Pinky almost back to ‘normal’

The latest xray. The pinky is permanently bent down into the mallet finger, but it is workable. Doc does not want me to get surgery. It still looks bloated but it’ll have to do. My doc’s office uses Macs, but with Windows XP installed on them.

Jr and the Zamboni

Jr. talked me in to some broomball a couple of weeks ago. Without the broomball shoes I fell 4 times flat on my back. Not a brilliant idea. Was fun, but I won’t play it again without the shoes. If you look closely enough, you might be able to see a bicep peeking out from his arm. Nah, I couldn’t either.

D:” At school, we forgot our eager readers (had a hard time saying this). Mom would say “ugggggh we missed it again”.

Elsa went skiing today in big powder. Lost her ski once. Said it was beautiful. See her blog for a pic or two.

Joe:” Monti how was school today”

Infected review

Well I finished a book recently called Infected by Scott Sigler…

Solidly mediocre. My problem with this is that it felt like something I would try to write if I wanted to try to write horror. And that is not a compliment. I felt like all the lines were predictable (even if the story wasn’t). For example the overbearing father of the football star son, the horrific things that the infected people did, the triangles, the whole bit – just felt like a sophomoric writing attempt. One thing I will say is that it was an easy read, and I did want to keep reading it (vs. just feeling like I needed to finish it).

I give it a 4/10 for fluff entertainment value.
